FAQ'S

Can we come to browse the hire library?

Yes, you are more than welcome to view the collection – just contact us to make an appointment. We will ask you to let us know what sort of things you are interested in so we can get them out ready for you to see.

 

Where are you based?

Oh So Curious is run from home in Bridgend, South Wales.

 

What is your hire period?

The hire period usually spans over 3 days. For example, for an event on a Saturday, items would be available to you on the Friday and collected back on the Sunday. We can be flexible with the hire period, depending on timings and demand for the items you have hired, it can be longer. We will do our best to accommodate your timings!

 

Do you have a minimum spend?

If you are able to collect and return your hired items to Oh So Curious in Bridgend, there is no minimum spend. If you require delivery/collection to and from your venue, then the minimum spend on hire is £50. Delivery/collection is not included in this, and is priced extra at 50p per mile.

Do you take a booking deposit?

Yes, to secure your date we require a deposit. This is non-refundable. For order values of £250 or more this is 20% of the total, for order values under £250 we require a £50 deposit (or the full balance if the total value is less than £50). On paying your booking deposit you agree acceptance of our terms and conditions. 

When is the balance due?

The final balance is due 1 month before your event, by BACs payment.

 

What if I need to cancel/amend my booking?

If you need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible. You will not be charged the remaining final balance but the initial booking deposit will be retained. If you need to cancel within 1 month of your event, all hire charges are non-refundable. You can amend your booking (add or remove items, subject to availability) up to 1 month before your event. This may change your quote but this will be outlined to you.

How do you arrange delivery and collection?

If you require delivery and collection, we will contact you a couple of months before your event to arrange locations and timings. We will also ask for a contact person and number at your venue, to ensure all goes smoothly on the day. Delivery and collection is charged at 50p per mile from our base in Bridgend.

What happens if I lose or break something?

We will outline item replacement costs on your quotation so you are aware of any potential further fees before you book. If any items are not returned, lost, stolen or damaged during the hire period, you will be invoiced for these according to the costs outlined and payment should be received within 14 days.

Cleaning and Packaging

All the items are carefully packaged to ensure they arrive with you in the best condition! Please look after this and return everything as it was delivered to you. You will be charged for replacement packaging if it is not returned. We will take care of cleaning items after your hire, although we do ask you remove any loose debris before you re-package them.

 

Liability

We will give you a copy of our Terms of Hire before any items are released to you. Once you pay your deposit, you agree to accept these terms. We accept no responsibility for injury caused to any person during the hire period. All hired items are the responsibility of you until they are returned. Please check your hired items at delivery/collection and in the unlikelihood noticing anything missing or damaged please inform us immediately. We will endeavour to repair/replace items if time allows.

I’d like to make a booking, what do I need to do?

  • Contact us with your wish list and we will check availability. At this stage we will send you a quote, which will include hire cost and the potential replacement costs. We will ask for some contact details for you and send you our terms of hire.

  • Once you’re happy to go ahead, the booking deposit is required to secure the date. Once received we will send you an order confirmation showing receipt of deposit payment.

  • A couple of months before we will contact you to arrange any delivery/collection details, as well as some contact details for your venue.

  • One month before your event, the final balance will be due.
